It has a licensing agreement with Anheuser-Busch, Inc. to produce, bottle, distribute, and sell Budweiser products in Canada and Paraguay. Companhia de Bebidas Das Americas (AMBEV) announced at the board meeting held on February 17, 2012 approved the dividend in respected of 2011 fiscal year, at BRL 0.6000 per common share and BRL 0.6600 per preferred share. Aat the total amount of BRL 0.1800 per common share and BRL 0.1980 per preferred share. The aforementioned payments shall be made as from April 10, 2012, whereas the dividends distribution shall be subject to the approval by the Annual General Meeting which shall resolve upon the financial statements related to the fiscal year of 2011. The record date shall be February 29, 2012 for BM&FBovespa shareholders and March 5, 2012 for ADR holders, without any monetary adjustment. Shares and ADRs shall be traded ex-dividends as from March 1, 2012.

Companhia de Bebidas Das Americas (AMBEV) to Invest $181 Million in South Brazil

Companhia de Bebidas Das Americas (AMBEV) has announced that it will invest $181 million in the south of the Brazil. These features are part of the package of $2.5 billion that the company is investing across the country in 2011. The goal is to increase by 10% to total production capacity of the company and meet the demand for short and medium term. The Rio Grande do Sul, in particular, will receive $75 million in 2011. During construction, the new malt plant will employ over 500 people (including direct and indirect workers). In addition, the new malt will benefit agriculture in the region. The acreage of barley belongs to producers that are part of the program Ambev promotion of cereal production. With the new drive, more than 2,500 families will be involved in planting barley. Initially, the Fund will step malting capacity of 110,000 tons of malt per year. The company will invest more than $100 million only in the first stage of works.
